“It’s not the solution,” Marc Marquez is not at all convinced with Honda’s new feature
It might take a bit more convincing for Marc Marquez as he tests out Honda’s new features.

Marc Marquez
The 1000th MotoGP race took place in France last weekend. However, all did not go as planned for Marc Marquez. The Spaniard was not able to finish the race and crashed out during the ending stages of the Grand Prix. It surely came as a huge disappointment for the fans who were expecting a strong come back from the Repsol Honda rider. Sadly that didn’t go as planned.
The eight time world champion had an incident at turn 7 during the third last lap of the race. Marc Marquez lost control of his RC213V and crashed out which resulted in him failing to finish the race. The French GP was his first chance to try out the new Kalex frame on the bike. The race itself was filled with ups and downs. No one expected Marco Bezzecchi to demonstrate such a dominant performance as he went on to win the historic GP.
It was an all Ducati podium at the French GP held at LeMans. Nakagami was the only Honda rider in the top 10 post race. This highlighted a major issue that has been ongoing for a long time. It seems like the Japanese Manufacturers have fallen off and the Italians are on the rise. Marc Marquez on the other hand told the media that the new feature helped a bit but wasn’t a prominent game changer. He recalled that teammate Joan Mir also crashed using the new frame.

Marc Marquez doesn’t think the new frame made a big difference

In an interview, here is what he had to say. “Of course the frame is a small difference and it’s a small help, but it’s not the solution. Mir was using the frame and he is a world champion – and you saw that he was struggling, he was behind and he crashed again,” he said. “So we need to change something for the future to be more competitive, to be safer. Because every year all the Honda riders are at the top of the ranking of crashes. It’s not just me; Mir crashed four or five times in Jerez, here again three times. So we need to keep working with the team to improve,” he continued.
Marc Marquez has struggled a lot in the past few years. With his injuries and recovery periods, it feels like the Spaniard is hell bent on proving himself to the fans and critics. While many think that he has nothing left to prove, the rider is keen on keeping up with the aggression to make moves which has often resulted in crashes recently. It will be interesting to see what he can do this season.
