Mourinho takes a swing at Bruno’s penalty goals


Jose Mourinho took a subtle swing at Manchester United player Bruno’s penalty scoring habit. Manchester United have been awarded 14 penalties in the 2019-2020 campaign. Jose took a light hearted swipe at United’s January signing Bruno Fernandes. Manchester United was awarded a penalty against Leicester as well. When Anthony Martial was fouled in Leicester’s penalty area. Bruno continued his impeccable penalty record as his sent the keeper wrong way and scored yet goal from the spot.

The Bruno Effect

Bruno Fernandes was bought for a whopping  €55 million (£50m/$65m). Since then United have increase in their form as they have lost just once since the arrival of Bruno. Bruno has scored 10 goals and given 8 assists in 20 games since his arrival.


Ole’s men have secured a berth in next season’s UEFA Champions League Campaign. Jose’s Tottenham faced Manchester United where Bruno equalized from the spot. The game ended 1-1.

In an interview Mourinho said,“Bruno came in, was fit, played very well, improved the United team and also proved to be a great penalty taker, one of the best in the world, because he had about 20 to score”.

Manchester United will return action against LASK for the second leg of Europa league’s round of 16. The Red Devils lead by  5-0 and might face İstanbul Basaksehir or Copenhagen in the next round.
