Just gives you a rough idea on the mindset of this franchise, ahead of the IPL.

“When we announced the tournament is going to happen, I had reservations about conducting the camp here because the bio-bubble had to be created. In fact, I sent a message to him (asking) whether it will be worthwhile having a camp for 5 days before going to Dubai. But the captain was crystal clear in his thoughts,” Vishwanathan said in a YouTube video for CSK.

Vishwanathan revealed that Dhoni did so only because the players had not played cricket for more than 4 months. Also it was very important to get in touch before heading for the tournament.

More than reports of Dhoni hitting those trademark sixes in the training camp. It should be noted that the majority of players were able to work on their fitness to a large extent that has sort of given them a head-start. In comparison with the other franchise players.

And also it helped in the boys getting in shape. This camp, though we had some reservations, has really helped. I am very happy we were able to host the camp.”Viswanathan added.

CSK Marquee player Ambati Rayadu also emphasised that the camp was important for the players as they could have an idea where they stand after a long cricketing break.
