Narayan Das joins Chennaiyin FC from East Bengal SC

Experienced defender Narayan Das signed for the two-time champions Chennaiyin FC after spending a season at East Bengal SC. The South-Indian club has offered a two-year contract to the defender, who is currently the second-highest capped player in the Indian Super League after Mandar Rao Dessai.

Narayan Das has the capability to fill in at centre-back too, and his signing will improve Chennaiyin’s defences greatly. A journeyman throughout his career, Das has played for Pune City FC, FC Goa, Dempo SC, East Bengal SC and Odisha FC. Throughout his ISL career, Narayan Das has six assists in 107 appearances. With over 200 professional career appearances, the Tata Football Academy will be crucial if Chennaiyin are aiming at another trophy next season.
