Hendrick Motorsports veteran Alex Bowman is going through one of the toughest times of his racing career. He ended the 2025 season winless, while all three of his teammates were in the championship conversation and Kyle Larson winning it at the end. This has put him in a tough spot going into the 2026 season.

As he prepares for the tough year ahead of him, he sat down with Forbs for an interview and shared his thoughts on the different tracks he likes and dislikes. Alex Bowman revealed that that he loves racing in road courses and often gets excited about it, though he has one win from 37 RC races. Unfortunately, now with Shane van Gisbergen dominating these events, he got close to no chance at winning.

Getting to see so many parts of the country, I think, is good for us. Selfishly, I like the places where I’m good at. There are some places I really get excited to visit. I love road course racing.

Alex Bowman told Forbs.

While he loves the street events, he isn’t fond of superspeedway racing, especially the iconic Talladega and Daytona events. The No:48 Chevy driver is among the very best when it comes to qualifying in these venues, but when it’s time to deliver on race day, he gets caught up in messes often created by someone else, costing him opportunities to win.

We won Chicago last year and had some really good runs on road courses, so I enjoy that. Then again, I look at superspeedway racing, and sometimes I’m not so enthusiastic about racing Daytona and Talladega.

Alex Bowman explained the importance of mental health in NASCAR

Going into the upcoming season, Alex Bowman is one of the handful of drivers that are fighting for their seat and needs to prove himself. This puts him under a lot of mental pressure and the veteran knows it’s important for him to address that. In the forbs interview he highlighted the importance of mental health.

I think mental health awareness is super important for anyone across the board. Doesn’t matter if you are a competitive athlete or a regular person.

Alex Bowman said.

Further talking about the point, the Chevy driver explained what it needs to have a long career in NASCAR. He pointed out that it’s physically demanding sport and everyone involved has taken care of their physical as well the mental health to succeed. Bowman admitted that if things are not taken care of at the right time, everything can go south.

We all know that racing as a sport can ebb and flow. From my vantage point, as a driver, how I take care of myself can really determine longevity in the sport. You have to take care of your mind through a lot of that—or it gets bad pretty quick.

Alex Bowman asserted.

The comments from the Hendrick Motorsports veteran seems rational and on point. He has to work on his mental health to thrive under the pressure he is in and it would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for him.
