Kyle Busch and Tyler Reddick were the headline makers of the NASCAR driver transfer market last season. Xfinity Series Champion Tyler Reddick left Richard Childress Racing twice to join 23XI Racing. On the other hand, Veteran Busch left Joe Gibbs Racing to replace Reddick in the No:8 Chevy.

Unlike in 2022, Busch is having a great season at RCR, where experts predicted he would struggle initially. He won his first race at Fontana and has been a consistent challenger for race wins before and after. On the other hand, Reddick had to wait 4 races to finish a race. He struggles to adjust to the TRD team and regain the consistency from 2022.

Tyler Reddick recently appeared on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s podcast Dale Jr. Download and opened up about his conflicted feeling seeing Kyle Busch succeeding with the team he once spent his whole Cup career before moving to 23XI Racing. This isn’t the first time Reddick has had such conflicts. He ditched JRM, owned by Dale Jr., after winning his first Xfinity title to join RCR. He won his second Xfinity title the next season before getting promoted to the No:8 ride.

You are kinda like torn, I mean, it was the same thing when I went from here [JR Motorsports] to RCR; I and Dave were so really, really close. And I want to see that whole team still do well because all the people on that team meant a lot to me, a lot of people in this building meant a lot to me, and still mean a lot to me. So you are kinda conflicted a little bit,” Tyler Reddick said.

Tyler Reddick doesn’t wish to see anything bad happen to Kyle Busch or the No:8 team, but he is motivated to outrun them.  He said, “Never once in my mind, watching Kyle at Fontana win that race, never once crossed my mind, ‘Man I hope something happens.’ But certainly, I feel like a sense of motivation, kind of like you wanna outrun them,”.

Reddick understands that he is no longer with RCR and has ready to do anything for 23XI. He said,  “You know your competitor, you kind of do better than them. So kind of like caught in this middle ground like you don’t wish anything ill-will on them. But you wanna go out there and beat them, and in competition, you know you are somewhere else now,”
