Indian Women’s Kho-Kho team skipper, Nasreen has been aided with immediate financial help by The Kho-Kho Federation of India(KKFI).
Nasreen, who played a crucial role in securing top position finish for India at the 2019 South Asian Games has recently said in a statement to ANI, that she was forced to live without ration during this monetry crisis caused by the complete lockdown in the country.
“My father used to sell utensils but due to lockdown, he is not able to go out which resulted in a financial crisis for the family. He is the sole earner in the family. Everything is closed during this lockdown. We are having trouble in getting the ration. The general secretary of the Kho Kho Federation of India Tyagi Sir helped us but our problems are not getting any easier,” Nasreen was quoted as saying to ANI.
As soon as the KKFI officials learnt about Nasreen’s finalcial situation, they immediately helped her out by providing INR 1 Lakh into her bank account.
“We are always at the forefront to support sportsperson and deserving talents who face genuine issues. It’s unfortunate that a national player had to face a tough time in such an unprecedented situation,” KKFI General Secretary M S Tyagi said in a statement.
However, KKFI also decided to provide food packages to several other players and also to the one’s who are unable to afford their basic needs. They will be helping people in Badarpur & Kohat Enclave in Pitampura area, through The Kho Kho Food Distribution Centre with the help of local volunteers, Tyagi further added.
