NBA insider makes bold claim suggesting Steve Nash is the reason James Harden wanted out of Brooklyn Nets

Steve Nash and James Harden

The James Harden trade always had the blame on part-time unvaccinated Kyrie Irving. As many expected James Harden’s reason to leave Brooklyn Nets and go play alongside Joel Embiid at the Philadelphia 76ers was Kyrie Irving not getting vaccinated and putting his heart and soul in for the game. The trade was very sudden and forced by James Harden on the deadline just hours before it ended. Philadelphia 76ers acquiring the Beard shipped Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond and Seth Curry along with two future first-round picks to Brooklyn Nets.

The trade sorted most of the issues between the stars and all are happy at the end. But recently, Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, an NBA insider for Bally Sports, went on “Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre,” a radio show part of Fox Sports, and revealed a secret behind the trade. According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson it was never Kyrie Irving who forced James Harden out but was the Head Coach Steve Nash who made him leave the team and find a new home.

Harden since his last year at Houston Rockets has always been a part of chemistry issues with teammates and especially the coaching staff. So the tension between him and Steve Nash due to the different system Nash runs can surely be a reason for him to leave the championship contenders Brooklyn Nets. One of the reasons can also be the change in role the coaching staff made for James Harden as they ran him at three most of the time and even switched at one during Kyrie Irving’s absence.

Discussing the trade Brandon Robinson quoted: “The two of them are cool [Harden and Irving], I can say that on record. The issue was Steve Nash and James Harden… Because last year when James Harden was playing for that team, even though Steve Nash was the head coach, he was playing within the Mike D’Antoni system, this was Houston all over again. The season the playbook shifted much, that’s not a Mike D’Antoni system anymore.”

Brandon Robinson also hinted at Kevin Durant trying to force the Nets management to trade Harden away. The trio could have been the greatest trio ever but injuries and chemistry issues in and around the roster broke the big 3. The trade has already started a new rivalry in the eastern conference between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. The fans now wait for a play-off series to take place between the two as they want to spectate former teammates go against each other and even their former coaches.
