“League’s best or individually the Best?”- Skip Bayless and Shannon Battle over LeBron James

LeBron James is probably one of the biggest players in the league right now. He has been dominating the league since he was drafted in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This year though has been a different story for the Lakers who had begun this season with high inspirations. After bagging big names during the offseason, the Lakers were quite content with the roster that they’ve assembled. But it was an Uno reverse in disguise because as soon as the season started the whole bench scattered like marbles on the floor.

With continuous fragmented defense and with almost no chemistry during the offense made the Lakers be one of the most overrated teams this season. The big names may have put the headlines on fire but their performance was as cold as ice.

It has been quite a surprise to watch the underdogs coming out and giving the top spots a tough competition for their cookies this year.

Skip Bayless talks about LeBron James not being at par with Michael Jordan

Skip Bayless and LeBron James

It is no news that Skip Bayless is a huge Michael Jordan fan and a huge supporter of “No LeBron James”. If you don’t know, so let me tell you why?

Skip has been continuously comparing Michael Jordan and LeBron James and spares no visible opportunity to belittle James. Some people find this comparison ridiculous because it has been decades since Jordan retired and the game has changed a lot since, so it makes no sense to dwell over something that is a legacy. But since when has Bayless ever listened to anyone?

In the recent episode of ESPN’s Undisputed, both the hosts’ Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discussed why LeBron James is not the leading scorer in the NBA.

Skip Bayless starts with a question asking whether LeBron’s new aim “Would be to become the lead scorer of the NBA even if it meant scoring points while being on a bad team?”

Sharpe directly denies and defends James by saying, “He had said that “if I were to lead the league in scoring I’d every year but he doesn’t want to. We often have seen James going 17-18  points a quarter then he’d take one shot in the next. Anybody who has done it like that would obviously want to retain the momentum even in the next quarter but LeBron James doesn’t think like that.”

To this Bayless replies, “As someone who is all Jordan all the time, if you told me in Year 19 LeBron led the league in scoring, I would be impressed and give him serious points.”

But as Sharpe said, LeBron doesn’t care about being or being the top-scoring player. He is already one of the best all-around guys in the League.

LeBron James’ talent and skillset need no support because they have proven themselves again and again. In the last 6 games, James has consecutively scored 30+ points for the LA Lakers. He is performing top level it is just the Lakers that are tanking.
