Lebron James teams up with Fenway Sports Group’s Liverpool as a competitor against Michael Jordan in soccer

Back in 2011, LeBron James invested for the first time in the world of soccer and bought himself 2% stakes in the Liverpool FC. That investment was around $6.5 million and has now grown to approximately $32 million and more multiplying itself to five times and coming up as a better investment for LeBron James.

Continuing his journey of investment in the world of soccer to seek good returns LeBron James took a big step few months ago which may result as his best investment till now. Earlier this year RedBird Capital Partners, the private investment firm part-owned by LeBron, has bought a stake in Fenway Sports Group for about $735 million. It is a minority stake in the group who owns English soccer team Liverpool and baseball’s Red Sox, the XFL, and are also the majority owner of French football team Toulouse. This resulted in LeBron James with associate Maverick Carter getting classed as partners of the group.

This deal where LeBron joined Fenway Sports Group as a partner gave him part ownership of FSG’s subsidiaries, which include Liverpool, the Red Sox, Roush Fenway Racing, New England Sports Network and opened routes for the king to join many new media partners too since he is allready a global well known star.

LeBron didn’t limit himself from chasing the records of Michael Jordan to on court or even to the game of basketball. The King is seen chasing Michael even in the world of investments and collaboration.

Michael Jordan’s brand Air Jordan under Nike has collaborated with Paris Saint-Germain and just with the signing of Lionel Messi in August, Michael Jordan earned a profit of $7millions just by the shirt sales for Lionel Messi. Air Jordan has also been producing team kits for PSG and sudden increase in the fan following for sure have resulted in huge profits for Michael Jordan.

In rival to this Nike and LeBron have collaborated with Liverpool FC and now LeBron will be releasing his merch, shoes related to the club and we may also see new team kits coming up with this new collaboration. This can result in a huge profit for the king and help him chase Michael Jordan down.
