Lonzo Ball becomes the 15th Chicago Bulls player to enter the Covid-Protocols this season

Lonzo Ball became the 15th Chicago Bulls player to enter the NBA’s Health and Safety protocols. Lonzo’s report came just after the Bulls’ shootaround session. Tony Bradley and Alfonso McKinnie in the Bulls also entered the protocols the same day just before the Shoot-around.

Chicago Bulls have with them their best lineup in years. But this year is riddled with Covid just like the last one. Chicago Bulls have been one of the most affected teams. Bulls have now gotten their two games postponed due to not having enough players to compete.

The Bulls fans were excited when their star players Zach Lavine and Demar Derozan were cleared to play and came out of the protocols. But, only shortly, they Lonzo Ball was to be put into the Covid-protocols. Lonzo Ball was having a very good season but due to the protocols, he had to miss his first game of the season.

“Y’all Jinxed me” – Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball took to Twitter to take a harmless jibe at the fans saying – “Y’all jinxed me”. Lonzo Ball was the only main lineup player in the Bulls team not affected by Covid or any injury before the Pacers game. Ball recently cited his limited social interactions after the games and practices for his Covid-free status.

This is what Ball said on being asked how he has managed to keep himself away from Covid – “I don’t really do too much, I just play and go home really, I am thankful I haven’t caught it yet.

Lonzo is having the best season of his career as far as his team’s standings go. He has played a huge part in getting the Bulls to the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. Personally, Lonzo is scoring 13.2 points per game, dishing 5 assists per game, shooting 41% from the 3-point line on 7.4 attempts per game.

NBA increases the testing to prevent the Coivd-outbreak

The NBA on Sunday decided to increase the number and frequency of the Covid tests. All the players and the support staff will be required to test for Covid on the game days unless it has been 14 days since their booster shot. Also, NBA is again starting to give more importance to wearing masks at all times while on the sidelines, on the bench, bus rides or during practices.
