There is no denying that Kevin Durant is already an MVP candidate and looks to be in top form to fetch the prestigious award in the 2021-22 seasonhttps://clutchpoints.com/kevin-durants-51-point-explosion-vs-pistons-draw-heavy-praise-from-nets/ as of now. Averaging more than 28 points per game, Durant is leading the scoring charts in the 2021-22 season. To those who are not aware, KD’s career-high is 54 points, which he scored against his former team Golden State Warriors in 2014. Nets coach Steve Nash yanked Kevin Durant against the Pistons as soon as he cracked 51.

With just over one minute remaining in the game, and the Nets leading by 16, they didn’t need to prove any point. Had it been closer, maybe the former MVP would have had the chance to top 54 markers.

Having said that, take a look at how hoop fans hailed the rigorous effort of Kevin Durant in leading the Nets to a 116-104 win against the Detroit Pistons-
