Joel Embiid and James Harden the all-star duo which was earlier getting compared with Shaq and Kobe has fallen short against the Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat and now it’s a wrap for their postseason. The Philadelphia 76ers are eliminated from the championship run after Game 6 of the series. The fans around the franchise expected them to win the Finals but unfortunately, that won’t happen as the Heat squad advances ahead. Joel Embiid missed the first two games of the series (due to a right orbital facial fracture) and James Harden wasn’t the one to lead the Sixers to a win. So the Miami Heat with the road being easy got a 0-2 lead and had a chance to sweep the Sixers out. But with the return of the Sixers’ big guy, the team was able to bounce back and tie the series at 2-2. But the winning stretch didn’t continue further and Heat got the job done.
The Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Miami Heat at Wells Fargo Center for Game 6 of the series. It was a do-or-die situation for the Sixers and unfortunately, they didn’t live up to the expectations of everyone around them as they get eliminated. The game was closely contested and head to head until the second half where the Heat Squad under the leadership of Jimmy Butler stepped up and dominated the Joel Embiid and James Harden-led Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers had a horrible shooting night and even though they have one of the best shooters around whom they acquired giving away Ben Simmons, young core, and two future first-round picks.
In the game, Joel Embiid dropped 20 points, 2 assists, and 12 rebounds. While James Harden was only able to get 11 points (0 points in second half), 9 assists and 4 rebounds, and multiple turnovers. The final box score stands at 90-99 favoring the Miami Heat. The Beard really had everyone around disappointed throughout the postseason as he never stepped up and was caught sleeping and lazy at many moments. The corrupted fans now also want him gone before the next season as they believe it’s done for him and he is of no help since he wasn’t able to backup Joel Embiid anytime needed.
Joel Embiid on James Harden after the Philadelphia 76ers get eliminated
Joel Embiid in the post-game interview addressing James Harden and his performance when questioned quoted: “Obviously, I’m sure since we got him, everybody expected the Houston James Harden, but that’s not who he is anymore. He’s more of a playmaker. I thought, at times, as with all of us, could’ve been more aggressive.” Joel Embiid really sounded disappointed and it’s totally right since his mate who could have been a bit more serious and aggressive to get a dub and the job done decided to not and stayed the same while maintaining a slump.
There are thousands of reactions to offer for the viral take of Joel Embiid claiming Houston Rockets’ James Harden isn’t present at Philadelphia Sixers. As fans feel the same after their team gets eliminated. Many understand the fact that the rule changes around the foul calls and decreased number of free throws have taken away his talent and aggression on the offensive end. Many also believe it’s the age and now he has to act like a veteran instead of trying to go to war as he isn’t in the MVP form and shape no more.
