Nick Wright is dissatisfied with the management of the Los Angeles Lakers for failing to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with a competitive group. Wright argued that James and AD’s domination made things interesting to watch in response to TNT pundit and former player Charles Barkley’s remarks about the Lakers gaining attention despite their bad record. This offseason, the Lakers were one of the teams that trade rumors addressed the most.

They haven’t made any significant deals, but as the trade deadline approaches, that might change. LA’s 11-16 record puts them in 12th place in the Western Conference. NBA reports claim that the Lakers have recently called on the Knicks’ Evan Fournier, Cam Reddish, and former star Kyle Kuzma.

Additionally, they are keeping an eye on Bojan Bogdanovic of the Pistons, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and Alex Caruso of the Bulls, and they are still monitoring Buddy Hield and Myles Turner of the Pacers.

Speaking on the Lakers’ situation Nick Wright said,” LeBron James is rewriting the record book every single night for what a guy can do in Year 20. They [Lakers] are to me super interesting because… The Lakers might have the best top 2 in the league & they can’t win because of total organizational malpractice by the front office.”

He further said “LeBron and AD are averaging on the season (a combined) 55/20/10. Seems good… They can’t win games because it’s Troy Brown Jr., Patrick Beverley, and Austin Reaves is the ninth man on a championship team, and for the Lakers, it’s like he’s their fourth best player.

In Tuesday’s 122-118 overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, LeBron James scored 33 points, eclipsing Wilt Chamberlain for the second-most 30-point games in NBA history. In 1,386 career games, James has now recorded 516 30-point performances. In 1,045 games, Chamberlain scored 515 points. Michael Jordan, who set the record with 562 30-point games in 1,072 games before his final retirement in 2003, is 46 games ahead of James in the standings.

Two weeks ago, James overtook Magic Johnson for sixth place in career assists. He is also closing in on Kareem Abdul-all-time Jabbar’s scoring record.

However, it wasn’t enough to prevent a heartbreaking loss to the Lakers’ longtime rivals in which they rallied from a 20-point deficit to blow a 13-point lead with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter before falling short in overtime. James was a key contributor to the Lakers’ comeback, scoring 22 points after the break.
