Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have been involved in one of the most intense rivalries seen in modern sports. For years, they have faced off against each other on the court and the intensity was palpable. However, despite their intense rivalry, the two have developed a special bond. Beverley spoke a little bit about this when he went on Kevin Hart’s show.

The two have become close companions since joining the Lakers this past season. Despite the fact that they were bitter rivals just a few years ago, they now share a special bond that few others can understand. As Patrick Beverley proclaimed in the interview about the bond between him and Westbrook, “I’m able to tell him sh*t that no one else can relate to.”

That quote speaks volumes about the relationship between the two players. It is clear that there is mutual respect between them, even though they have gone head-to-head in the past and the close relationship now has been built with that mutual respect as the foundation. Beverley went on Instagram and defended Russ when the rumors of him getting benched first came out.

Will their special bond endure and bring success to the Lakers? Only time will tell.

LeBron James led the team with 25 points and 10 assists. James and Patrick Beverley also knocked down timely threes to keep the lead. Russell Westbrook had an impressive outing off the bench as he nearly put up a triple-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists.

The Lakers’ win streak has the fans very excited about the team’s prospects with some claiming “The Lakers are back”. The most encouraging thing is that they have managed this win streak with superstar big Anthony Davis. Excitement must be contained, however, as the Lakers are still below .500.
