LeBron James has been having back to back bad seasons with the Lakers. A Western Conference executive thinks that LeBron trade to Warriors is possible.

Since last year LeBron James‘ name has been constantly associated with multiple trades. His teammate Anthony Davis has been largely unavailable in the last two years, and James has been fighting alone in Los Angeles. In the last 5 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, he has only made playoffs 3 times and that is not the legacy LeBron would want to end his career with. An executive in the Western Conference thinks that the 4 x champion might join the Warriors next season.
One of the reasons that James would want a trade is the Lakers’ current 19-22 record. Simply making playoffs is not enough for a player of LeBron’s caliber. Before, Monday’s loss against the Nuggets, the Lakers won 5 consecutive games and 5 of their last 7 games. Amidst the Lakers’ downfall, some of the executives in the Western Conference think that a LeBron trade might be a possibility in the future.
One executive from the Western Conference thinks that a trade between Los Angeles Lakers and the Warriors might be a possibility. One of the biggest reasons is, that the Warriors have multiple valuable young pieces. “If there is a bidding war going on at some point, the Warriors are in a great position because they can give you the young guys—[James] Wiseman or [Jonathan] Kuminga or [Moses] Moody, or [Pat] Baldwin, whoever the Lakers want,” said one Western Conference executive,” the executive said. The Lakers are also in great need of rebuilding and they also might show some interest in bringing in a young core.

James turned 38 at the end of December and still playing at a high level. At this age, a player becomes a liability, he still continues to amaze by playing like top players in the league. The executive said that bringing LeBron, Green, and Curry together would be fun. “If they keep Draymond [Green] and come back with Steph [Curry], Klay Thompson, Draymond [Green], and LeBron, that would be a fun, fun team to watch,” he said. James has already said that he is ready to sign with whichever team signs his son in 2024.
The 4 x MVP has already signed an extension with the Lakers this offseason, however, after the 2023-24 season he would be ready to walk out. But, signing with the Warriors would not be easy for the King. It would not only bring out the chatter around but also a trade difficult to pull. “But you have to add either [Jordan] Poole or [Andrew] Wiggins, and that’s not easy,” he said. However, the executive also thinks that giving up Poole for LeBron is a feasible option for the Warriors. “But if they want to win now, you can give up Poole if you are getting back LeBron, right?”
