Luka Doncic’s Mavericks going up against Devin Booker’s Suns in Game 7 feels like Batman vs Superman showdown. Doncic has carried Dallas Mavericks throughout the entire season, and may as well have resurrected their hopes of making it to the Conference Final which had faded away after being 2-0 down to the Suns, after Game 2. Booker has been phenomenal for the Phoenix Suns throughout the season, being one of the reasons why the Suns’ are considered the “Best Team In NBA” this season. However, Dinwiddie disagrees.
Luka Doncic dropped 33 points and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Suns 113-86 on Thursday night to force a Game 7 in the Western Conference semifinals. The home team has won all games in the series, as the Suns have home-court advantage in the Game 7 decider. The Mavericks won when facing elimination for the first time in three tries with Doncic, their 3-time All-Star.
Devin Booker scored 19 points but was shut out from 3-point range (0-4) while going 6 of 17 in shooting. Deandre Ayton had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Paul added 13 points. The top-seeded Suns were held to a season low in scoring, regular season or playoffs, for the second time in the series.
“Luka Doncic is the Best Player”
Pride and legacies will be on the line on Sunday when the Dallas Mavericks take on the Phoenix Suns in a winner-take-all Game 7 matchup in Phoenix. According to Dallas Point-Guard Spencer Dinwiddie, what will matter the most is who the best player will be on Sunday. At this point, the Mavs guard is confident that man is going to be their 3 -time All Star, Luka Doncic:
“Obviously they’re at home, hostile environment.” “However, they also say that Game 7 usually goes to the best player, and I believe that is the case in this series.” It’ll be a fascinating clash of styles.” Dinwiddie said on Mavs. com .
That “best player” Dinwiddie is referring to is Mavs superstar point guard Doncic, who is averaging 32.2, 9.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in this Mavs-Suns series points in this series and has given the Suns a headache. If the Mavs’ supporting cast can hold their own, the Mavs will be able to pull off the upset of all upsets and dethrone the defending Western Conference champions.
Doncic has been on fire this series and Booker has been ice-cold.Devin is currently averaging 25.8 points against the Mavericks this series and helped them win two early games as well. He recorded his season playoff-high during Game 4 finishing with 35 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists shooting 10 of 22 from the field.
Booker and Doncic could have been teammates if the Suns had not passed on the Slovenian baller. Either way, both players have been playing exceptional basketball and have the potential of becoming future leaders in the league. Team Batman or Superman, who will come out on top in this epic clash between rising stars in Game 7, do not take your eyes off this one.
