Kyrie Irving has been a part of some of the best groups in the recent history of the NBA and dominated while contributing to his team. The athlete has arguably the best handles in the league or the greatest it has ever seen up to date. His works with the Brooklyn Nets helped them get through as far as they did this season before heading out in the first round due to player availability and just lack of power.

The player spent his first initial years playing alongside the King LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers. He became the rookie of the year and earned the title of one of the best three-point shooters in the league. He was a big reason why the Cavs were able to win a championship in 2015 after a 52-year drought. He averaged 27.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in a seven-game stretch.

After winning a championship, the duo of Kyrie Irving and LBJ disbanded after one more season. The point guard’s reasons were because he felt he was meant to be on his own level and not overshadowed by someone such as Bron, who was looked at as arguably the greatest player of all time. He left Cleveland to join the Boston Celtics and then two years later signed with the Brooklyn Nets due to much more personal reasons.

On hearing about his department from the Cavs team, fans were very quick to attack the player accusing him of not being a good teammate to James. People started to believe that the two did not like playing alongside each other which is why the King called for a trade. Recently, Irving himself clapped back at the accusations saying, “They started asking people around me what was going on. People started snitching. It was weak. They were trying to pin me against Bron. Kyrie hates Bron, Bron hates Kyrie. It was never like that.”

Tristian Thompson played along with the duo when they were crowned champions. TMZ had gotten a hold of the player in public questioning him on whether he thought his former teammates were the best duo in NBA history over Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen as well as Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. The center vaguely agreed to it but not entirely after stopping midway while speaking.

Turns out that at least some who would have played with the duo appreciate their works. Thompson also said, “I win a ‘ship with somebody, they’re always my favorite.” There are rumors of Kyrie Irving reuniting with his former teammate in Los Angeles over the next season but nothing has been confirmed.
