The scenes of certain community hasn’t been pleasant in the States after series of incidents comprising those involved have been in the news for some years now. However, Lakers’ Lebron James has always been one player who has voiced his opinion on different cases, the latest being Ahmaud Arbery’s verdict which saw accused Travis McMichael being held guilty on all counts. The 36-years-old NBA Veteran breathed a sigh of relief as the judiciary this time held the accused accountable for his actions.

LeBron James has been the vocal player to speak upon social abuse and to those who are not aware, Ahmaud Arbery was gunned down on February 23, 2020. However, it wasn’t until May of the same year that the suspects were charged for the killing. Just a few hours earlier today, the guilty verdict was handed down on Travis McMichael and two other suspects in the murder.

LeBron James posts an emotional message upon Ahmaud Arbery Verdict 

When the above spoken incident took place, LeBron James has previously stated, “We’re literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes! Can’t even go for a damn jog man! Like WTF man are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!? No man fr ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! I’m sorry Ahmaud(Rest In Paradise) and my prayers and blessings sent to the family.” 

Ahmaud Arbery was chased by Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William “Roddie” Bryan because they believed him to be involved in the burglaries in the neighborhood. Travis shot him three times with a pump-action shotgun and was declared guilty of all charges. The national media were mostly unaware of the events until the chilling video taken by Bryan went viral.

LeBron James was apparently one of many who saw the horrific recording of the events. The lynch-like killing stirred the national consciousness and brought back the Black Lives Matter campaign in Georgia.
