The purple and gold army were handed a huge blow before the start of Lakers vs Spurs clash as LeBron James was listed out of the game due to a sore ankle. However, given the opportunity, Russell Westbrook seems to be coming back to his very best. The highest triple-double scorer in the history of the league seemed to have picked up the pace since the first quarter and looks determined to answer all his critics.

Russell Westbrook has been criticized by the home fans themselves after the veteran was not able to perform at his very best in the initial games. But with LeBron James out due to injury, it looks like Westbrook needs no second call to take more responsibility in leading the Lakers past the Spurs. With the game being fought so close, Westbrook’s individual plays could surely prove to be the difference maker.

Talking about the particular incident, in the first quarter both teams were slow to register points against their names. Yet as the points started dropping, the pace of the Lakers vs Spurs game too picked up. During a throw, Russell Westbrook snatched the ball out of Dejounte Murray’s hand and ran the other end of the court in order to keep the ball in play. With the break on, Deandre Jordan came running down to the paint.

After which Russell Westbrook gave a mouth-watering lob pass to Jordan who dunked it ferociously. Having said that the LA Lakers had got off to a got start, but the home team has been able to make consistent recovery in both the quarters. As the game is currently in half time, it is the San Antonio Spurs who has gone into the break with a 1-point lead.

Spurs are being led by the charismatic Dejounte Murray himself. Whereas the away team is being led by Anthon y Davis, who has scored 16 points and 7 rebounds so far in the game.
