Los Angeles Clippers fans’ worries accelerated when their beloved swingman Paul George got a hard foul by Bulls star guard DeMar DeRozan on Thursday night. Paul George has recently made his comeback after recovering from a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He made his appearance on the court after three months where he missed 43 games, almost half a season for the Clippers.
With Young Trece’s return, the Clippers were in the full drive to make a big impact in the remaining games this season. In the first game after his return, Paul made a grand entry with a 34 point against the Utah jazz which showed that three months of rest has not rusted him. But on Thursday when he faced the Chicago Bulls things didn’t go his way as PG scored 22 points which was not enough to bring the victory for the Clippers, as they were edged out in OT by 135-130.
Clipper fans calls out DeMar DeRozan for his dirty play on Paul George
The game was intense between the Bulls and the Clippers as Chicago made its 16 points comebacks to get the win. The whole credit goes to DeMar DeRozan who in the crucial moment was everywhere on the court grabbing rebounds, hustling, stealing balls which helped the Bulls to upturn the game in their favor. But during one of those hustle plays, DeMar almost ended Paul George’s season when he did a hard foul on him.
In the fourth quarter when only 1:20 seconds were remaining the Bulls were trying to get the lead and for them, DeRozan tried to go deep in the arc, where he can score his infamous midrange shot but the ball got slipped from his hand.
Meanwhile, Paul George who was guarding the arc grabbed the ball to move in the fast-break but the Bulls all-star in his attempt to revive the ball pushed PG13, which for a moment looked serious as he lay down on the floor for a few seconds.
Why Paul George is the most need-able player for the Clippers?
The Clippers fans were shocked as they don’t want their star forward to go back on a long rest. But in the game, it turned out nothing serious, and both Paul & DeRozan paid respect to each other. The fans’ concern for their star forward is understandable as they are currently placed on the 8th seed of the west and it’s very important for them to have big firepower in their bag if they want to make a deep playoff run because there are still no signs of Kawhi Leonard making his comeback before the season ends.
