New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson continued his rich vein of form in the New Zealand summer with a cracking double century against Pakistan. His knock of 238 runs included 28 fours and no sixes. The elegant right-handed batsman wore the visitors’ bowlers down with an exemplary display of patience and class. There were two other centurions as well for the hosts as Henry Nicholls and Daryll Mitchell got well-deserved hundreds.
By the end of Day 3, New Zealand had declared on 659/6 and reduced Pakistan to 8/1 with a lead of 354 runs. Pakistan now have a near impossible task of batting for two more days to avoid an innings-defeat which seems all but likely at the moment. New Zealand will take the series 2-0 if Pakistan don’t pull something out of the hat.

Pakistan will resume on 8/1 on Day 4 and look to put up a fight before they go down.
