He made some very great saves for his side tonight, keeping them somewhat in the game. It could have been a bigger scoreline at the end of the whistle, the way Manchester City attacked tonight.

Jacob Murphy (6/10): Murphy made some notable runs against Manchester City tonight but failed to produce anything of significance. He made some good tackles in the defensive area against Jesus and Sterling.

Ciaran Clark (5/10): Clark failed to contain the Manchester City attackers tonight, he was outnumbered on occasions and had no answers against João Cancelo. He did make some good interceptions for his side but will have to step up if Newcastle wishes to avoid relegation.

Jamaal Lascelles (4/10): Jamaal had a bad game tonight by any standards. He failed to maintain the offside line on occasions, making many errors tonight. He missed an open clearance allowing Dias to score early and then failed to maintain the offside line allowing Mahrez to score the third goal for City.

Matt Ritchie (6/10): Richie had a good showing tonight against strong opposition, He made some good moves in the midfield to dribble past his opponents on a few occasions. He tried to contribute to the attacking third but failed to make a dent in Manchester City’s defense.

Miguel Almirón (6.5/10): Almiron was decent in the attacking third, creating chances for his side. He did cause some trouble for Laporte and Dias but was eventually contained by the City defenders. He was subbed off in the final ten minutes of the game for Jeff Hendrick.

Isaac Hayden (5/10): Hayden had a decent day in the midfield tonight, as he did tussle for the ball a lot against DeBruyne and Bernardo Silva. He made some good passes but couldn’t give his side a breakthrough. He was subbed off for Longstaff in the 61st minute.

Joe Willock (4.5/10): Willock will hope to forget and move on from tonight’s game, as the player couldn’t find his footing in the game tonight. He tried to move ahead into the attacking third on occasions but was intercepted by Zinchenko. He was subbed off at the end of halftime.

Ryan Fraser (5.5/10): Fraser had a tough day in the midfield tonight trying to contest for the ball against his opponents in the midfield, he provided good support from the sides, but Newcastle failed to convert on those chances.

Callum Wilson (6.5/10): Callum Wilson was just relentless, trying to find the back of the net for his side. He was a constant threat for the City defense line, testing Ederson time and again. He maintained his presence until the end and should be happy with his performance despite the loss tonight.

Ederson (6.5/10): A decent outing for Ederson tonight, as the Brazilian made some good saves against the Newcastle attackers who were persistent all throughout the game. He will be happy with his clean sheet performance tonight.

João Cancelo (9/10): Cancelo was brilliant in the outfield tonight, he made some great runs in the attacking third, opening up the Newcastle defense on multiple occasions. He was a constant threat for the defenders throughout the game with his speed and ball control. He added to Newcastle’s woes with a brilliant goal in the 27th minute.

Ruben Dias (8/10): Dias stepped in as the skipper for Manchester City tonight, and rightfully so. The defender has been in stellar form and continues to showcase his excellence in the field. He opened up the scoreline for Manchester City in the 5th-minute, converting a brilliant assist from Cancelo.

Aymeric Laporte (7.5/10): Laporte continues to be a solid pillar for the Manchester City defense line. He was great on the outfield tonight, making some great tackles for his side. He made a great clearance in the 15th minute, preventing Newcastle from scoring the equalizer.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (6/10): Zinchenko had an average outing tonight, he was constantly pestered by Wilson and Almiron. He made some good interceptions, helping Manchester City maintain their clean sheet. He produced a magnificent long-ball from the midfield to Mahrez who made no mistake, netting the ball between the posts.

Rodri (6.5/10): A decent outing for Rodri tonight, he made some good interceptions for his side in the midfield and was excellent with his ball control. He made a rough sliding tackle in the 25th minute on Willock in the midfield, resulting in a yellow card. He was subbed off in the 68th minute of the game for Fernardinho.

Bernardo Silva (5.5/10): Bernardo Silva looked a little out of touch tonight, he had a disappointing start tonight as he failed to make any crucial contributions in the game for City. He made a rash fowl in the 30th minute, getting booked in the process.

Riyad Mahrez (7.5/10): Mahrez looked great tonight, he made some great moves in the attacking third, creating chances for his side. He produced a smooth assist for Cancelo in the third as the Portuguese made no mistake converting it for a second goal for City. He missed an opportunity in the second half but apart from it, a brilliant display by Mahrez tonight. Not only that, but he scored the third goal for the visitors in the 64th minute of the match.

Kevin DeBruyne (7/10): DeBruyne was just magnificent with his ball control tonight, he made some great passes from the midfield, creating attacking opportunities for Manchester City. He made some good interceptions in the field and despite not finding the back of the net, he still remained one of the best on the pitch tonight.

Raheem Sterling (7/10): Sterling had an average showing tonight, he made some good runs in the attacking third and had a couple of shots on target. He was lethal in the second half of the game, scoring the fourth goal for City in the 86th minute of the game.

Gabriel Jesus (6/10): Jesus looked decent in the attacking third tonight, he constantly pressed for the ball and made some good runs inside the box, he failed to score in the closing minutes of the first half. He was a constant threat for the Newcastle defense and maintained his presence throughout the game.

Fernardinho (6/10): Fernardinho came in for Rodri late in the second half of the game to strengthen the defense line. The job was already done with City 3-0 in the lead. He made some good interceptions in the midfield, thwarting Newcastle’s attacks.

John Stones (6/10): Stones came in for Dias in the second half and made some good tackles for his side. His positioning was excellent and played a key role in containing Wilson in the second half.
