Newcastle returned to Premier League football with a dominating 3-0 win over Sheffield United. Sheffield’s last match ended with VAR controversy due to the disallowed goal. After an even first half, it was goalless at the midway break with Joelinton scuffing away a chance for Newcastle United.
The second half started with Sheffield going one man down. The advantage was immediately counted as Newcastle got their first after poor defending from Sheffield. Newcastle grew into the game after the goal as they got 2 another to cap off return to the premier league. As a result, Newcastle moved a place up to 13th on 38 points while Sheffield remain 7th on 44 points.
