The Raiders recently knocked out the Chargers in overtime and secured their place in the playoffs and Derek Carr played a major role in his team’s triumph. After the game, Derek claimed, “We knew no matter what we didn’t want to tie. We wanted to win the football game,” Carr said. “My mindset all day, I was even texting with Aaron Rodgers this morning, my mindset was to make sure we were the only team moving on after this.

Aaron’s always been good to me since I came into the league. We became friends, so we talk. Aaron, I appreciate your encouragement today,” Derek had said. In a recent press conference, Rodgers was asked about his role in Derek’s success.

In reply, Rodgers said, “I don’t want to take any more credit for Derek’s success. I sent him a few text messages because we are friends and I just want to send him a couple of encouraging messages. He’s been close to the playoffs, hadn’t made it yet and I just enjoy his personality and his friendship.”

Rodgers went on to say that he was a little surprised that Carr mentioned him after the game but also added that he greatly appreciates and values his friendship.
