The Cleveland Browns had a forgettable 2021 season. With 8 wins and defeats, they finished third on the AFC North points table and failed to make their way to the playoffs. One man who particularly had a terrible season for the Browns was Baker Mayfield.

Baker was the man who had the onus of guiding his side to a number of wins, however, throughout the season he failed to find his rhythm and was caught off-guard by even mediocre defenses. The QB threw 13 interceptions and fumbled 6 times this season.

Needless to say, when your marquee plays fails to make a mark, you do find yourself in a tough spot as a franchise. In fact, Baker was consistently trolled for his performances. Baker even decided to take an indefinite break from social media. Recently, Robert Griffin had a lot to say about Baker’s future.

Baker is under more pressure than anybody in the league. If he doesn’t run the table and win a Super Bowl, I think we might’ve seen the last of Baker Mayfield in Cleveland after this next season,” Griffin said. However, he also claimed that Baker is the type of guy who performs the best when his back is against the wall.

He went from a drop on to being a Heisman Trophy winner,” he added. Griffin stated that if Baker wants people to take him seriously, he needs to deliver his absolute best for Cleveland. It will be interesting to see if Baker can script a turnaround that’ll be remembered for ages.
