“I don’t believe this is a…” Andrew Brandt makes a shocking claim about Aaron Rodgers’ record-breaking contract

Aaron Rodgers signed a new deal with the Green Bay Packers recently, which keeps him with the Packers for quite a while. Except, Andrew Brandt believes that may not be the case.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have finally put all their past drama behind them this offseason…or have they? Andrew Brandt joined ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ and revealed what Rodgers could actually be planning to do.

Rodgers and the Packers weren’t on the best of terms following the team’s 2020 NFC Championship loss. While he wanted out at that time, the two sides agreed to stick together for 2021 to give it another go. When that went wrong in the divisional round, it seemed sure that Aaron Rodgers’ time in Green Bay was done.

However, recently Aaron Rodgers reportedly signed a brand new 4-year $200 million contract. That seems to indicate that he wants to remain in Green Bay and given his age, it would seem he wants to retire with the Packers.

After the reports came out about the details of the contract, Rodgers came out and called it ‘inaccurate’, prompting Andrew Brandt to voice his thoughts on what Rodgers really wants to do.

Appearing on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’, Andrew Brandt was quoted saying “This year I thought it was time for a change, that they would transition to Love after a 2-year apprenticeship but, he’s(Aaron Rodgers) back. This very well could be just like Aaron and Brett(Favre). A 3-year apprenticeship. They’re running it back this year, they’ve got Adams on a tag. They’re going for it with their cap deficiencies and they move to Jordan Love next year.”

About the contract specifically, Brandt added “I do not for one second believe this is a 4-year commitment to Aaron Rodgers or from Aaron Rodgers. I do believe the Packers are not giving up on Jordan Love. The Packers do not guarantee more than the first year of the contract so the real guarantee is going to be a signing bonus this year. What I’m pointing out is the fact that they’re making a huge guarantee to Aaron Rodgers, doesn’t commit him more than this year.”

This whole Aaron Rodgers-Green Bay Packers saga has been going on for quite some time now. Hearing that it may not be done yet is honestly quite astounding. Of course, this is just an analysis based on what is seen on the surface. It’s possible that Rodgers decides he truly does want to stay in Green Bay for the rest of his career or, rather worryingly, we could be in the same situation once again next year.
