The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t been at their best in recent times, to say the least. Having won just one encounter of their last four, the team hasn’t really been able to figure out the best combination. While the win against the Panthers was a good one, back-to-back losses against Buccaneers and Raiders again shattered their morale.
Amidst all the chaos, Coach Sirianni has been under pressure as well and he sure has a job on his hands. Next, his team is set to take on Detroit Lions, another side that is short on confidence. The lions are desperate for a win as they have lost all of their last four encounters.
Eagles desperate for a win against the Lions
Before entering into the next week, coach Sirianni gave an injury update on Javon Hargrave, Landon Dickerson, and Anthony Harris. He claimed that there is no status as of yet on Hargrave and Landan, whereas Anthony’s participation looks doubtful.
Meanwhile, Sanders will be placed on injured reserve, the coach added. This means that the Eagles will have to look towards rookie Kenneth Gainwell to take his place as their starting running back. Moreover, McPhearson is yet to recover from a hamstring injury and will miss the game against the Lions.
As far as Anthony Harris’ participation is concerned, Sirianni said that he is not entirely out of the contention and that they want to see how he responds to rehab, but it’s doubtful that he will be healthy enough for the next game. Moreover, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside’s participation is also not guaranteed as he might still not have recovered from the back injury.
