Herbert blazed the trail to become the first quarterback to throw 350 yards and rush for a whopping 90 yards in a single NFL game. He penned history in NFL as these stats have been achieved in the course of a single game for the first time in NFL’s glittering antiquity of 101 years.

Chargers gaffer, Brandon Staley quoted, “He’s got real instincts at the game for the position. His legs today really helped us win that football game. … The way that they were playing the game. He knows when there’s daylight and he ran to it. What that does, is it forces the defense to change and that’s a good thing. They can’t play those coverages vs. us. And if they do, they better account for him.”

Herbert’s 90 rushing yards are the most in an NFL game by a quarterback in the franchise’s history. The Chargers signal-caller also paralleled the record of Steve Young as the only player in NFL history to throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns and rush for 50 yards twice in a game.

Herbert also pulled off the record of being the second-fastest quarterback to reach 7000 career passing yards in the game that saw him rack up the achievement in just 25 games, touching the enviable record of Kurt Warner. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes is the only one to be ahead of them as he bagged the feat from 21 games.
