New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara‘s Pro Bowl night was not just about winning and running through all the defenders on the field but also off the field. The RB was arrested in Las Vegas following the big game as he violently battered a person at the nightclub in South Las Vegas. The incident happened a day before the Pro Bowl and the victim identified Kamara to be the one doing all the beating.
He was booked for battery resulting in substantial bodily harm which means he was naturally bound to face the music from the league under the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. Though this altercation took place in February 2022, Commissioner Roger Goodell waited till now to discipline the running back.
Alvin Kamara is bracing for a potential suspension for at least 6 games:
As per reports, Kamara will be handed a six-week suspension following a scheduled court appearance that will happen in August. The discipline that he will be handed down is accurate with the league’s policy on felony charges against a player. The Saints player was not the only one involved in this feud, Kansas City Chiefs corner Chris Lammons was also arrested for beating the man up at the Las Vegas Nightclub on the 5th of February.
Both the players posted bail by depositing $5,000 to the concerned authorities. The man was severely injured as Alvin Kamara beat him to a literal pulp, he had a broken eye socket and had to be admitted to the hospital. The Saints RB was booked for battery resulting in substantial bodily harm as per the Clark County Detention Center report.
Apart from the NFL’s official suspension, he also risks facing up to an entire year in prison. This comes as a blow to the New Orleans Saints as they will be without their star RB who is known for his agility, speed, and power to run by or through defenders.
