Drama, intense, high-octane drama, that’s what this offseason has been all about. Some major changes in the squads, teams going all in to rope in the superstars they wanted on their sides, and who can forget Tom Brady’s retirement and the Dolphins association saga.

Just when we thought the dose of drama was inching south, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have done the needful. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Murray has made his stance very clear that he will not feature for the Cardinals unless he gets a contract extension.

Will the Cardinals offer an extension to Kyler Murray?

Not long ago, speculations about Murray leaving the Cardinals were on an all-time high as Kyler had deleted all social media stuff related to the team. However, post that, there were reports of reconciliation as well.

Recently, the Cardinals’ general manager Steve Keim was asked if the team is planning to trade Murray ahead of the next season as he probably won’t play without an extension, in reply, Keim quickly responded by saying that there is absolutely no chance of something like this happening.

Zero chance,” he said which makes it absolutely clear that the Cardinals are willing to stretch as much as they can in order to keep Murray with the franchise and it makes sense as in his maiden season, Murray proved that the franchise made the right call by roping him in as he was named the Offensive Rookie of the year.

Moreover, the Cardinals made the playoffs in 2021 for the first time since 2015 and Murray had a huge role to play in that. It will be interesting to see what happens next in the Murray-Cardinals saga.
