Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are trying to add one more designed play to their playsheet. On Monday Night Football, the Cowboys squared off against a tough Los Angeles Chargers team and were trying to bounce back from their week 5 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. Desperate for a victory, the Cowboys tried to borrow a play from their division rivals Philadelphia Eagles, and their QB Jalen Hurts‘ playsheet.
During the final minutes of the first quarter of the game, the scores were tied at 7 a piece and the Cowboys were facing a 4th and 1 from the Chargers’ 13-yard line. Instead of opting for a field goal, Prescott and the Cowboys tried to go for the “guaranteed success” play Tush-Push. Prescott received the ball from the center and tried to sneak it in with running backs, pushing him from behind.
But he could not successfully sneak it past the Chargers defense. The Cowboys lost possession in loss of downs and the Chargers took it from their own 13-yard line. Check out the footage of the Cowboys’ unsuccessful attempt at the Tush-push play attached below.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have been so successful in the short-yardage play thanks to this modified QB sneak, where the quarterback gets some help from his behind. They have been so successful in recent years that some other teams are calling for a ban on that particular play.
However, other teams who have tried to copy the play design, including the Cowboys, have failed at successfully executing, which prompts a question of whether the play is unstoppable or just the Eagles are that good.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys narrowly escaped the Chargers threat
On Monday, the Cowboys and their franchise QB Dak Prescott managed to defeat the Los Angeles-based football team in a close road game. Prescott had a good outing on the field and led his team to a victory.

In the game, the 2-time Pro Bowl QB registered 312 scrimmage yards and 2 total touchdowns. He had great help from his number 1 wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who caught 7 passes for 117 yards while averaging 16.7 yards per reception.
With the hard-fought victory, the Dallas-based football team improved to a 4-2 record and has a bye week ahead to refresh a bit. When they come back from bye week, the Cowboys will square off against the Los Angeles Rams in their week 8 matchup. Prescott and the Cowboys would look to continue their momentum against the Rams after their week 7 bye.
