Aaron Rodgers, who is widely considered one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever throw the spiral, recently joined a new team as he was traded to the New York Jets by the Green Bay Packers. However, before joining the Jets, Rodgers also received some interest from some other teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders decided to move on from the veteran QB Derek Carr after an abysmal 2022 season. During their search for Carr’s replacement, the Raiders’ star wideout attempted to rope in his former Packer Aaron Rodgers, who was seeking a way out of Green Bay. In the end, Rodgers ended up signing with the NY Jets and the Las Vegas-based football team acquired the 2-time Super Bowl champion Jimmy Garoppolo to address their QB needs.

Amidst this, the Raiders All-Pro pass catcher Davante Adams has admitted that he tried hard to lure Aaron Rodgers to Las Vegas. During his recent appearance on the I AM Athlete podcast, Adams talked about his recruiting attempt in the off-season.

“I will say, I recruited the hell out of Aaron Rodgers. I don’t want to say that because now it makes it look like Aaron said screw me even though I did that when really he made the best decision he had to make the best decision for himself which is exactly the same thing that I did,” said Adams.

The 6-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams and the 10-time Pro Bowl QB Rodgers used to be a dynamic duo in Green Bay. They played together for 8 seasons before Adams decided to sign with the Raiders during the 2022 off-season to play with his college teammate Derek Carr.

When Davante Adams decided to leave Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to go play with Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders, there were lots of questions surrounding Adams’ future since many people considered going from Rodgers to Carr would be a huge downgrade for the 30-year-old receiver.

However, Adams shattered all the doubts as he registered 1516 receiving yards and a league-high 14 receiving touchdowns in Las Vegas while catching passes from Carr. Thanks to his impressive numbers, Adams received his sixth Pro Bowl nod and third first-team All-Pro recognition of his career.

Now that Adams made it to the All-Pro team without Rodgers, the explosive wideout claims that he has destroyed the narrative that he needed the former Packers QB to be a dominant receiver in the league. “You can just write in: He didn’t need Aaron Rodgers,” claimed Adams during his recent interview with The Ringer.

Nevertheless, Rodgers and Adams will again have new beginnings as Davante will now catch passes from Jimmy Garoppolo and Rodgers will be throwing passes to the young and talented core of the NY Jets in 2023.
