“Got to be the right fit”: Eli Manning might just be on his way to owning an NFL Team

Eli Manning might be interested in being an NFL Team owner, but he cannot seem to look past the only team that he ever played for- the New York Giants. Looking at possible team options, Manning said that he would not want to buy a team that he has no history with.

“It’s of interest, it’s just got to be the right fit,” he told Front Office Sports, “I don’t think the Giants are going to be for sale anytime soon,” Manning said that he might not get the Giants anytime soon- a lost opportunity- as they will not be for sale.

However, Manning is currently quite busy himself. He is onto his second season of hosting the Eli Manning Show, which focuses on the New York Giants. He, however, also believes that his brother Peyton Manning might beat him to the chase, buying a team before he does.

Noting that “Denver’s going through some stuff,” Eli said that Peyton might buy an NFL team before him since his brother played for and still lives in the Broncos. Both the brothers earned a hefty sum throughout their careers, with both him and his brother making a whopping $250 million- EACH.

Since his retirement, Manning has been quite busy. He became part owner of NWSL’s NY/NJ Gotham FC in just August. In January he also became a partner at a private equity firm, Brand Velocity Partners. In his more recent endeavors, Manning is partnering up with Quakers to raise $500,000 to fight hunger.
