The NFL media is known for dishing out a lot of hot takes. Especially when it comes to ‘The America’s Team,’ the Dallas Cowboys. Their QB Dak Prescott is under constant scrutiny from the media. The quarterback’s every little mistake is magnified, and a lot of his accomplishments don’t receive the appropriate praise. Another player who has been under a microscope this season is the New York Jets’ QB Zach Wilson.
Wilson and Prescott are having contrasting seasons. The Cowboys’ signal-caller is in the MVP conversation after leading his team to a 10-3 record and playing the best football of his life. Wilson on the other hand, has been benched a couple of times and has had a poor season. There is no comparison between these two players and yet, ESPN analyst Kimberley Martin, dared to do that using a simple metric of yards per completion.
Martin said on the ESPN show, Get Up:
Dak Prescott right now is averaging 10.1 yards per completion. Zach Wilson, 10 yards [per completion]. They are practically the same. And when you're compared to Zach Wilson right now, that's not a good thing.
Prescott so far this season has thrown for 3,505 yards, 28 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions with a rating of 107.5.
Wilson on the other hand has racked up 2,245 yards, 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 11 games. It is clear that Prescott and the Cowboys are going upwards, whereas Wilson and the Jets are experiencing no significant improvements in their season.
Fans blast Kimberley Martin for claiming that Dak Prescott is similar to Zach Wilson
The Dallas Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott has been phenomenal so far this season. The New York Jets‘ QB Zach Wilson? not so much. Yet ESPN analyst Kimberley Martin believes that they are similar in terms of yards per completion.
Martin claimed that Prescott and Wilson are “practically the same” while talking about their similar yards per completion stats. Fans on social media slammed Martin for his assessment as some fans said that “she’s unwatchable.” Here are some of the reactions.
The Cowboys will look to improve on their form and win their game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Jets on the other hand are expected to get back their offseason signing Aaron Rodgers back on the field by the end of the season. They are 5-8 through 14 weeks of the season and will look to end the season on a positive note.
