Russell Wilson’s departure from the Seattle Seahawks was one of the statement transfers in the NFL offseason this year. The Denver Broncos got one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL at the moment while the Seahawks have lost their key man.
However in sports such things are expected and teams need to move on even after losing such an important player. The Seattle Seahawks will be facing Russell Wilson once again in the season opener.
Russell Wilson won’t be having any emotions while facing the Seahawks
Russell Wilson has made it clear that there won’t be any lost love left when he is up against his old teammates at the Seattle Seahawks. He will be leading out the Denver Broncos team at the Lumen Field.
“It’s got to be non-emotional. You’ve got to go into it with the understanding that it’s just ball”, Wilson said on Monday about the prospect of facing the Seahawks again.
“I think it’s going to be an exciting time,” Wilson said. “Obviously, Seattle’s meant the world to me over the past 10 years. It’s a special place, a special place to play. You know, I have a high regard for all those guys over there.”
“When you start looking at what potential games there are going to be, that was one that I certainly circled and thought, ‘Man, that would be a great game if we were able to get it on Monday night,’” said Troy Aikman of ESPN . “And to have it right out of the box I think is awesome, and to be playing there in Seattle with Russell going back, obviously it’ll be very emotional for him. He’ll be fantastic.”
