Making an appearance in front of the media, on his first day back to the camp, he revealed the nature of his injury and how he has recuperated from it, and nearing his complete 100% fitness, before the start of the 2022 NFL season.

“It wasn’t the normal appendicitis as you hear about it. I didn’t really feel much. Just getting checked out and had some discomfort and so we thought we’d get it checked out. Turns out, I had it, so we had to get it fixed,” Joe Burrow said. “Not ideal timing obviously, but glad it happened now and not halfway through the year.”

“I just think my whole career has been coming back from speed bumps and adversity and so I don’t know anything else,” Burrow said, via WCPO. “It’s just another speed bump in the way. It is what it is, gotta come back from it. You control what you can control, and this is what we are dealing with right now.”

Joe Burrow further stated that he would not be playing the Bengals’ Week 3 preseason game, but he hopes to return to 11v11 training next week. All in all, it is a good sign for the Bengals fans, that he will be ready for their first regular season encounter against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
