“We all know that Jackson is a great player, he’s fun to watch. Everyone in America knows that. But he’s so hyped because if Jackson plays a great game and his team is winning games, we make him out to be Johnny Unitas. But if you criticize him when he has a bad game, all of a sudden we’re being too critical of him.” Russo believes that though Lamar is talented, he does have bad games and there are instances where he deserves to be criticized but he does not.

Media members are afraid of being dubbed as too critical if they criticize him. The recent being with Bernard Pollard began because of Jackson not being featured in the ESPN list of top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL. Former Steelers safety and ESPN analyst Ryan Clark defended Jackson by stating that he is definitely in the top 10.

However, Pollard disagreed and tweeted his thoughts out which led to the start of the beef. Jackson ended up calling Pollard ‘dumb’ and the duo went back and forth for a while. Lamar has had a stellar season last year with 2,882 yards, 16 TDs, and 13 INTs. In terms of rushing yards, he ran for 767 yards with 2 TDs. He clearly deserves his money as he is the life of the Ravens offense and franchise.
