New York Giants shopping for Kadarius Toney as WR’s future with the franchise remains doubtful

Kadarius Toney might be on his way out of the New York Giants after spending only 1 season with the franchise last year. The 23-year old was drafted as a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, but his rookie season did not go according to plan.

According to numerous reports, the Giants are considering trade options for the wide receiver after seeing enough of him in the 10 matches that he was a part of last season. To increase rumours about his future at the franchise, Kadarius Toney wasn’t spotted with the franchise during their voluntary camp this week.

Everything almost went wrong for Toney in his rookie season as he had multiple injuries and situations, from wearing the wrong-sized cleats to skipping the voluntary offseason program to multiple positive COVID-19 tests, that keep him off the field.

However, the Giants head coach Brian Daboll did not want to read too much into Toney’s absence from the voluntary camp and feels that the player will continue at the franchise next season.

“As I said, this is a voluntary camp,” Daboll said on Wednesday. “The guys that are here, we’re going to work with. The guys that aren’t, they’re going to miss out on some things. It’s voluntary for a reason. That’s the nature of the rules.

“I’ve had good talks with K.T., good talks with some of the other guys. I’m encouraged with where we are with our participation, and what we’ve been doing. We’re going to keep working in the right direction.”
