Aaron Rodgers was supposed to lead the New York Jets to the playoffs this season. After signing for the Jets from the Green Bay Packers this offseason, the expectations in New York were that of the postseason. Their week 1 matchup, however, turned out to be a nightmare for Rodgers and the Jets as he injured his ankle on the first drive of the game.

Rodgers did not return to finish the game as backup QB Zach Wilson took over the quarterbacking duties from Rodgers. The Jets rallied around their young QB and scored a thrilling win against the Buffalo Bills. Rodgers is expected to miss the entire season due to the injury as it is feared to be an Achilles injury.

Although the injury to Rodgers was a severe one, some fans in Green Bay rejoiced at the sight of their former QB limping off the field. A bar in Green Bay was serving free drinks and a video from the bar shows some fans cheering after Rodgers went down with the injury. Fans who saw the video were quick to react as a lot of them found it strange and disgusting.

Some people assumed that the cheering was for free beer as bars in Milwaukee are offering free beer for every Jets loss.

Rodgers will get an MRI on his ankle, but the first signs are not good. He might miss the entire 2023 NFL season because of the injury. The Jets, however, pulled off an amazing victory over the Bills in overtime. They will only hope that Rodgers’ injury isn’t a fatal one and he returns as quickly as possible.

Robert Saleh concerned over Aaron Rodgers’ injury

Aaron Rodgers‘ first game with the New York Jets did not go according to plan as he suffered a brutal injury on the first drive of the game. At first, it was thought to be an ankle injury, but multiple reports suggest that it might be an Achilles-related injury.

Head coach of the Jets, Robert Saleh was concerned over the fears of an Achilles tear. “We’re concerned with his Achilles,” Saleh said in the post-game interview. “An MRI is probably going to confirm what we think has happened, so prayers tonight. But it’s not good.”

Rodgers signed with the Jets this offseason after an 18-year stint with the Green Bay Packers. His arrival in New York got a lot of media hype and he was expected to deliver right away for the Jets. This injury will be a major setback for the team as well as Rodgers and the Jets will hope he makes a speedy recovery. A healthy Rodgers is a good thing for football.
