The Kansas City Chiefs decided to trade Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins and fans were left disappointed. This actually came as a huge blow to the franchise as Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill created a lot of problems for the opposing teams. Hill played two seasons in the league with Alex Smith as his quarterback but really took out the big guns when Mahomes began throwing him the ball.

However, Patrick Mahomes is confident that the team has players who can deliver at the highest level. The franchise has added JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the squad. Recently, the offseason workout program started for the Kansas City Chiefs and Mahomes has already started working with his new teammates.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Corey Coleman joined star QB Patrick Mahomes in Texas for practice over the past couple of weeks. This surely will allow the players to get a head start when it comes to developing chemistry among themselves and understanding each other’s gameplay.

Most recently, Mahomes was asked about his take on his new teammates. In reply, he claimed that the team this time around has a lot of size in that receiving room which can be very beneficial for the side. “To have big, physical receivers that can still run and still catch the ball over the top, there have been balls that I’ve thrown out there during routes on air, I’ve thrown in high thinking it was an overthrow and those guys are catching it easy. Having that size, I think will be different. I’m excited for it and I think it will be something that will be useful for us during the season,” Mahomes told reporters.

Patrick also commented on the importance of developing timing with the new mates as he had with the ones who aren’t around with the team anymore. “First off, it’s about me building that timing with those guys,” Mahomes said. “I’ve got to make sure I’m on that same timing that I was with Tyreek, Pringle and D-Rob these last few years. That’s why we’re doing what we are doing now.”

Just having the different variety is going to be huge for us,” Mahomes further stated. “The defense doesn’t know where the ball is going to. We have so many different guys that can make plays and do stuff out there. I’m just excited to be able to go out there and spread the football around,” he added.

It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs perform in the coming season.
