Peyton Manning is one of the most iconic figures out of Texas, the quarterback is everything that the state is about. Football, the classic Southern accent, and a love for steaks. During his stint at the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts apart from the Super Bowl wins and Pro-Bowls he became famous for another reason. His iconic audible word before plays, ‘Omaha.’

The word originated in Denver, he just started saying that word there especially when the NFL turned the sideline mics up so that those watching from home can hear what the players are telling. Omaha meant to snap the ball or get ready now as the ball will be snapped. Every team across the league has a word similar to this but only Manning’s code word has gotten this famous.

He recently showed up to a University of Texas football game in Omaha with a relatively legendary outfit. Peyton flaunted a hat with the words OMAHA printed across it. What is noteworthy is also that the QB has a production house with the same name.
