Sean Payton recently took charge of the Denver Broncos after a legendary period at the New Orleans Saints. Payton was regarded as one of the best coaches of all time and he will look to replicate that feat in Denver as well.

The Broncos are in a tough position currently. Their previous season was abysmal as they were one of the worst teams in the league. Their star-signing Russell Wilson also turned out to be a huge failure.

The Broncos’ management changed in the middle of the season as the team was sold. The new owners’ first task was to fire HC Nathaniel Hackett and after the season ended he hired Payton.

HC Payton recently came clear about the trade rumors of WR Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton. Both of the WRs have an integral part in the Broncos’ organization and the HC has made it clear that they won’t be traded under any circumstances.

“I see and read just like everyone else does,” Payton stated to Tom Pelissero. “Then occasionally, when someone really crowds the plate, I throw a fastball right at their chin, and they back up, and they’re like, ‘Alright.’ And so I haven’t thrown any fastballs lately, but we’re not trading those two players.”

Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton were the silver lining in a disastrous Broncos season last year. HC Sean Payton is aware of their importance and wants them to be a part of the squad in the long run. Both Jeudy and Sutton are the best receivers on the team currently and the management can’t risk losing them as they prepare for a resurgent season this year.

“Those are two good football players. But we’re in the business of gathering talent right now. Why do people call? Because they know we’re void of draft picks and that we might, because there was some discussions a year ago, I think, regarding Courtland. But we like the current group that we’re working with.” Payton stated to NFL Insider.

HC Sean Payton has just been in charge of the Broncos squad. Therefore, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll make widespread changes in his first year in charge. The Broncos are also looking for a comeback season this year and will need all the reinforcements they can provide to their star man Russell Wilson.
