“Passing the torch” – Skip Bayless BOLDLY claims that Aaron Rodgers getting replaced by Jordan Love marks the end of an era for the Packers legend

“Passing the torch” – Skip Bayless BOLDLY claims that Aaron Rodgers getting replaced by Jordan Love marks the end of an era for the Packers legend

Prominent NFL analyst Skip Bayless had some interesting anecdotes on his show Undisputed about Aaron Rodgers after the Packers’ loss against the Eagles this Sunday. The veteran analyst strongly feels that the four-time MVP winner might soon have to let go of the green and yellow uniform sooner than later.

The reason for his bold claim was how things played out for the Packers against the Eagles. Rodgers had to go off the field mid-game because of a rib injury and in came the 24-year-old backup QB, Jordan Love to replace him. Love went on to guide his team to 10 points in just two possessions despite being placed in almost impossible circumstances.

Even though he couldn’t ensure victory for the team, his efforts were enough to start the obvious media frenzy.

“I concur. It felt to me last night like Aaron Rodgers passed more than a football. It felt like he was passing the torch to Young Jordan. Love, I gave you that who at moments looked a little bit like Michael Jordan Love.” Skip said on the show, in conversation with his partner in crime, Shannon Sharpe.

The Michael Jordan comparison by Skip was in reference to Jordan Love’s most notable contribution over the remaining portion of the game. Love made a 63-yard touchdown possible with Christian Watson, displaying his throwing ability on the big platform finally.

Skip also called out the Packers’ poor management and accused Aaron Rodgers as a media manipulator in the same segment. The ‘excuses’ that are being made by the legendary QB might force the Packers organization to explore other options like Love.

“We know about Aaron Rodgers. I’ve said it many times he is the all-time excuse-making blame deflecting finger pointer. That’s what that organization has become worn out of. He is the master media manipulator.”

Skip further stated, “That’s what that organization has become worn out of. That organization is sick and tired of Aaron’s vaccination controversies and his Ayahuasca controversies and it’s always something with Aaron Rodgers, right?”

And Skip might have some truth in those words. Because AR did call out his team for poor performances and more or less had dusted his hands off from the blame earlier this season.

The historians of the game will also find some similarities between the Packers’ current situation and something that took place 15 years back. One can easily spot more coincidences between this and the previous generation other than the blame-shifting attitude, which is not new at all in Packers quarterbacks.

Just like Jordan Love, AR had replaced his idol, Brett Favre, in 2007 at Dallas. While the Packers lost the game, Rodgers’ excellent performance cemented his role as the starting QB for the franchise.

Although Jordan Love’s ticket to starting QB position might still be a long dream as AR has made it pretty clear that he is more than eager to play against the Bears next week. The injury update on his rib and thumb is still not disclosed, but the legendary QB is most likely touted to be the team’s starter again.

Before playing the Dolphins on Christmas, the Green Bay Packers will now play the Bears and the Rams in the upcoming two weeks. They are now third in the NFC North division and have a 4-8 record for the season, which puts them practically out of the playoff picture.
