Miami Dolphins’ explosive wideout Tyreek Hill won’t be retiring soon. Earlier this offseason, he mentioned that he would see out his four-year contract and hang up his boots. However, he has had a change of heart and will keep on playing as long as his body permits. Not only that, he aims to become a Hall of Famer with the Dolphins.
So the question arises: why would Hill even think about retiring from football when he is still in his prime? The 29-year-old is coming off a brilliant first season with the Miami outfit. He even managed to record his best-ever season in terms of yards received. The seven-time Pro Bowler had 119 catches for 1710 passing yards and scored eight touchdowns. Hill finally clarified his previous statement. “I can continue to play forever, but my dad told me: You can make all the money in the world. But what if you’re not able to spend it?” said Hill. His father wanted him to enjoy his hard-earned money while he still could.
Nevertheless, he is back at the Dolphins facility and has even set himself a personal goal besides winning the Super Bowl. Hill wants to break the 2000 receiving yards mark as quickly as he can. However, his ultimate goal is to become a Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer. He believes winning the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs was the highlight of his career so far. But he feels at home at Maimi, and he wants to repay his gratitude.
“I have a lot of history down in Kansas,” Hill told SI. “Those guys gave me a chance. But I feel like here (Dolphins) is much more special; I want to enter the Hall of Fame here.”

It won’t be easy for Tyreek Hill to become a Hall of Famer
Tyreek Hill signed a four-year, $140 million extension until 2026 when he turns 32. He will earn around $45 million in base salary and bonuses by then.
If he manages to stay injury-free and plays a decent amount of games with an average of 80–90 receptions and 1,191 yards per season, Hill will achieve the landmark 10,000 receiving yards in the next two seasons.
However, to even count himself as a Hall of Fame candidate, he has to complete over 13,000 yards. Despite that, there’s no guarantee he will make it in. Former players such as Steve Smith Sr., Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, and Torry Holt all have over 13,000 receiving yards but are not Hall-of-Famers.
