Tua Tagovailoa was off to a flying start this season. The QB was performing exceptionally well for the Dolphins as they were unbeaten in the league, but all things must come to an end.
Tua Tagovailoa suffered a brutal injury in the second quarter of the Bengals game. The Dolphins QB was sacked by Bengals Josh Tupou and the QB wasn’t able to move as his arms were stuck in one place resulting in a possible concussion.
Tua Tagovailoa wasn’t able to move, so a stretcher was called onto the field and the 24-year-old was taken straight to the hospital for further treatment.
“I could tell it wasn’t the same guy that I was used to seeing,” Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said. “It was a scary moment. He was evaluated for a concussion. He’s in the concussion protocol, but he’s being discharged.”
This was Tua’s second injury in 5 days as he suffered a similar injury on Sunday’s game against the Bills. After being tackled by the Bills defender Tua Tagovailoa was taken straight to the locker room and surprisingly the QB came back in the 4th quarter to help his team win.
“Player health and safety is at the core of the union’s mission. Our concern tonight is for Tua and we hope for a full and speedy recovery. Our investigation into the potential protocol violation is ongoing,” the NFLPA said in a statement after Tagovailoa was hurt Thursday night.
“Fire your medical staff”: Twitter hits back at the Miami Dolphins for their terrible management of the Tua Tagovailoa situation
There’s a real possibility that the Dolphins can be filed with a potential lawsuit and there will be serious consequences imposed by the NFL for this mishap.
To play with a person’s life just to get a win in the regular season is not justified at all. Though Tua Tagovailoa is currently safe and well, anything would have happened on the field and the QB shouldn’t have been cleared to play.
Twitter was enraged with this news and everyone prayed for a speedy recovery for Tua and called out the Dolphins and the NFL for their mistakes.
