“He can be a Franchise QB”: Shannon Sharpe on Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins are on their hottest streak in the NFL. They have won all of their previous seven matchups. Despite starting the season with only a single win, the Dolphins have managed to get back in the game thanks to their young QB Tua Tagovailoa, who has been nothing short of sensational.
After their fantastic win against the New Orleans Saints, the Dolphins have created an odd bit of history. The Miami Dolphins are now the first team in NFL history to have a 7-game losing streak and a 7-game winning streak in the same season.
“Tua is still improving”: Shannon on Tua’s performance
Undisputed co-host, Shannon Sharpe praised the young Quarterback on his performance. “He’s still improving as a young QB, and I still believe he can be a franchise QB”, said Shannon. “He has good accuracy,” he further added. The Dolphins QB leads the NFL in passing percentage and is currently 8th in the quarterback ranking. Despite the fact that Tua is young and still learning, “It’s hard to argue the Dolphins 7-straight wins and Tua has 6 of those”, said Shannon.
Shannon added that if you surround Tua with a good running back, wide receiver and an offensive line then Tua can be a great QB. “I think he can play at a very very high level”, said Shannon. Miami’s defense has done a great job in the past seven games. They have managed to pressurize every team they played against. Shannon feels that if the Dolphins make the playoffs, it will be due to their incredible defense.
“I’m not sure if he’s a great leader”: Skip Bayless
Sharpe’s co-host Skip Bayless has a diametrically opposite opinion of Tua Tagovailoa. Skip said that he thinks Tua is a great kid but he isn’t quite confident if he’s a great leader. Bayless added that the Miami Dolphins’ locker room loves to play with Tua but they all know that he has limitations.
Skip said, “I do not believe Tua is a franchise QB and I didn’t think so when he was at Alabama.” He is unsure about how far a team can go with Tua. The Dolphins QB has 15 TDs and INTs so far in the season. He also has 6 fumbles none of which were recovered by the opposition’s defense. Shannon added, “He (Tua) Dak Prescott in his early career”
Both Shannon and Skip have presented everyone with great arguments about Tua being a franchise QB. Now, all eyes are set on Tua and the Dolphins over the next two weeks to see whether they continue their streak or not. The Miami Dolphins are going to face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
