Aaron Donald is one fearless guy. He was accused of choking Arizona Cardinals’ offensive tackle, D.J. Humphries after having a heated argument in the third quarter of the Wild Card game. After this bold act, Donald also issued a stern statement to Tom Bardy saying that he isn’t afraid of him.

“It’s a new year. Respect what he did in the past, but it’s a whole new year,” said Donald as per LA Times. He said that while he is in awe of Tom Brady’s greatness, regular season and past achievements don’t matter that much in the postseason. Everyone knows that Tom Brady loves criticism and being the underdog. Maybe it wasn’t smart of Aaron Donald to provoke Tom Brady.

Undisputed co-host and former Super Bowl Champion, Shannon Sharpe, discussed the implication of Donald’s statement. “That’s what he’s supposed to say”, Shannon said praising Donald’s boldness. “Sometimes guys get in awe of Tom Brady. Tom Brady is generational. He is historically, transcendental great.”

“Whatever term you want to use greatness and however you want to define it, Tom Brady has a picture in the dictionary next to greatness. He’s been great, he’s been clutch, he’s been everything that you think a top-notch QB should be. He’s been that and if you magnify it times a hundred, he’s been that.”

“The past has nothing to do with the present”: Shannon feels Tom Brady’s previous achievements have no impact on Sunday’s game

Shannon continued, “But Aaron Donald is absolutely right. You respect what the man has done because you see what he’s done and is doing. But that doesn’t have anything to do with this game. This game is a separate game in and of itself. I love what Aaron Donald said knowing that it’s not gonna be an easy task, knowing what Tom Brady represents.”

“But Skip, the past has nothing to do with the present. So, the thing for Aaron Donald and his team is to go in there and approach it like that. Guy do not be afraid of Tom Brady and in awe of Tom Brady. His previous accomplishments doesn’t help him in this game. Because guess what it starts 0-0, we have 60 mins. they have 60 mins to prove who’s the better of the teams on Sunday.”

“This is how a lot of guys feel but I’m not so sure they have the confidence to verbalize it like Aaron Donald did,” Shannon concluded. Los Angeles Rams will face reigning Super Bowl Champions, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers at the Raymond James Stadium on Sunday night.
