It will be a battle between a rookie and a seasoned veteran in Week 4 of Sunday Night Football. The Denver Broncos take on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. The latter is coming off a two-game win streak after beating the Titans in Week 2 and the Patriots in Week 3.

For Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos, the rookie quarterback will look to score his first NFL touchdown pass. They are coming off a 26-7 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nix threw for 216 yards and scored a rushing touchdown along with Jaleel McLaughlin. Apart from that the Broncos put up points through field goals.

This week the New York Jets will look to continue their winning streak after a dominant outing from Aaron Rodgers last week. He threw for 281 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Broncos and Jets have equally strong and competitive defenses. When one compares them offensively, it is the team led by the veteran who has the edge.

Bo Nix has been inconsistent so far along. Last week, it was the Broncos’ kicker who put up 14 points, as he outscored the offense and carried the team to a victory. This week they may not get as many opportunities to get within field goal range considering the Jets are a defensive powerhouse. Interceptions have been another cause of concern for the rookie.

The Broncos’ defense will need to perform if they intend to halt the Jets’ offense right in its tracks. As for Aaron Rodgers, the vet is back in his zone which is why it will be a difficult game for Denver to win. But it would be foolish to count them out entirely.

Why can the New York Jets win?

The tide is in favor of Robert Saleh and the home team. The Jets’ strong suit against the Broncos will be their offense. Apart from Aaron Rodgers playing like the Hall of Fame quarterback he is, the team has a strong run game. Breece Hall and rookie Braelon Allen will compel the Broncos to keep a watch on stopping their run game while covering Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

The Jets’ defense showed fans how dangerous they are during the 24-3 win over the Patriots. They sacked Jacoby Brissett five times in one game. This week, Bo Nix will have to be quick and accurate with his throws, if not, he will find himself run over by the D-line.

Why can the Denver Broncos win?

Despite failing to throw for a touchdown last week, Bo Nix put up his best performance of the season. The quarterback is looking more comfortable on the turf by the day. Sean Payton has a better understanding of the situations his quarterback thrives in and when combined, this is likely to result in Nix outperforming his Week 3 numbers.

The Broncos’ defense can silence Aaron Rodgers and the Jets’ offense. As witnessed in their 26-7 demolition of the Buccaneers, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph continued to catch the offense off-guard by switching things up consistently. The Broncos’ strategy is to prevent the quarterback and the offense from getting into a rhythm.
