Nick Kyrgios has once again lashed out at Borna Coric in the ongoing Twitter spat between the two. The Croatian hit out at the Australian for his well-publicized criticism of the players who have been ignoring strict COVID-19 restrictions.
Players like Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and Dominic Thiem have all come under fire for their carefree attitude towards COVID-19. He also had a go at legend Boris Becker, after the former player calling Kyrgios a ‘rat’ for correctly calling out Zverev and others for their actions.
Coric was one of the players, alongside Djokovic, who tested positive to coronavirus after the Adria Tour exhibition competition last month, something Kyrgios has been particularly vocal about.
Coric had claimed he “didn’t care” what the Aussie had to say on the matter, leading to Kyrgios to hit back by asking if he had “rocks in his head” and that he was just trying to hold people accountable for their actions during a global pandemic.
“You should care,” Kyrgios wrote. “Do you have rocks in your head? Again, you can stand up for your mates, I’m just trying to hold them accountable. When I said what I said, I didn’t intend to bother. They are tennis players, they aren’t special. Just as I thought, Coric intellect level = 0.” Nick added.
“Just making sure that you spuds didn’t cause more players to feel like Dimitrov. Have you read how he continued to feel after he tested negative? Or that’s too much for that brain of yours to process?” Nick further stated.
Coric shut down for a second time
Coric was not amused by Kyrgios’s tweet and came back by saying he was simply “bored” or had drunk too much, to which Kyrgios fired back in typical fashion.
“Again. Joking about a global pandemic. Shows your maturity level champion. Gonna be a good to see you next, see if that peanut of a brain has grown.” Nick tweeted.
“But yes, a tad bored watching you boring ass tennis and personality bringing absolutely zero to the sport.” Nick further added.
